met up with chris, kom, nic and sheal yesterday. it’s been about 4-5 years since all of us were in the same country so it was definitely a big day. i also finally got to shop a little for myself after so very long. got a pair of bluish-black pumps for work and the super comfy primas from crocs. work shoes needed to be replaced as the ones i have need to be thrown out soon. they’ve been to the cobbler and even after being patched up, they’re not holding up so well. i’ve been contemplating the primas for months and months and finally decided to get them but they weren’t available in the subang outlet. managed to snag one of the last two at the pyramid outlet in the colour i wanted. so, yay!

and i saw a sesame street store! i want!

there’s an annoying cricket above my room now and i can’t construct sentences properly so i’m gonna go shoo it away.

bunny’s back!

Basic recipe’s from here with some tweaking. Should’ve put them closer together before proofing. Yes, there are missing buns where those gaps are. Only decided to take photos after I tasted them.

I’ll be moving food posts to a different blog soon. This place is so jumbled up already.

on the way to brunch recently, there was an old exercise book in my mom’s car. upon further inspection, it turned out to be my grandma’s old recipe book. yellowed and slightly worn with the years but still very much legible. it contains a mishmash of western and local dishes from various cultures. in that book, recipes were written by my grandma, my mom and also a family friend. there were even a couple of recipes translated from jawi. there are a few more books just like this one lying around somewhere at my grandma’s. i’ll have to go dig them up one day.

It says,” cenderamata bagi memperingati Malaya merdeka”.

Some of the pages and a loose cover that was slipped in.

i’ve been watching diary of a foodie. every episode leaves me wanting to know more and more, but sadly only part of the first season is available in full episodes.

after andrew shared happyslip with us, i continued following her blog and videos. today, craig and i attempted the cup beat after numerous tries following the tutorial she put up and we got the beat down! now to try singing while doing the beat…

Happy New Year, Everyone!

here’s to a brand new year. looking back, 2007 wasn’t a great year for me but it brought me new friends and a stronger bond with those i hold dear. for that i am grateful. i wish everyone a happy and prosperous year ahead. may you always be surrounded with laughter, warm hugs and many beautiful memories.

yes, i’m still alive. no, there are no photos. sorry. of all the softwares and systems i’m using, i didn’t expect to be stumped by ms excel. numbers, numbers and more numbers. i think my eyesight has worsened. getting to know more people and also getting to know more about the people in my unit. craig, i was at menara milenium the other day but was there with a senior. will have more visits there when the account is handed over to me. the pmintl office is pretty. i bet yours is too. i love that tomorrow is a friday. and it is also my mom’s birthday! sue’s mom’s birthday was today. happy birthday, mama! happy birthday, aunty! chris, hope you have a safe drive down to palmy. i’m diving into bed now. g’nite.

i’m still alive!

it’s gonna be a very busy weekend. i hope everyone’s is doing well. if you aren’t, i hope some sunshine and rainbows come your way. photos will be up soon-ish. :D

this past week went by in a blur. reporting for work on monday wasn’t what i expected and i came home snappy and wanting to scream bloody murder. the news of the sudden change in plans really did test my patience and lessened my confidence in the company that i would be working for. as the week progressed, i started to look at things differently and realised that i was in a better place than others. the job i got may be far from what i wanted, but it is something that sounds interesting and shows promise. i’ve met great people and the first part of the induction program wasn’t as bad as i thought it would be. six years is a long time but it’ll give me the chance save up for LCB and knowing that i’m working towards something makes all the difference.

those of you who know how i drive would know that i’d get lost easily and that my sense of direction is almost non-existent, but i learned the kl roads. so, yay! sue has been a huge, huge help and it really is great that i have her with me through everything. you won’t get rid of me so easily, babe.

for the next week we’ll be posted at a TM exchange somewhere nearby. by the looks of it, all four of us who are from subang will be together so hopefully it’s near home. we’ll know more on monday. i’ll enjoy the weekend first and get started on the raya cookies. today will be baking and laundry day! i really don’t know how everyone does it. i’m so exhausted after a full day and this isn’t even the real job yet. TGIF has never sounded sweeter.

chris, my hunny bunny, big huge congratulations on getting the project of your choice. you’ll do great in palmy for sure. gimme your palmy address so i can finally send you your long overdue presents (21st! 22nd! grad!) and maybe a care package or two. will make sure i get them to you before your 23rd. malu je :P

today was a good day. i made a good sponge cake and had fun decorating it on the cake decorating wheel. two loads of laundry are done and hanging on the balcony to dry. i’ve been listening to joshua radin and schuyler fisk on repeat while playing scrabble with the zazu. they’re most definitely two of my favourite singers/songwriters. i’m looking forward to tomorrow. no big plans. just getting rid of a lot of junk.

little girl, may your soul rest forever in heavenly peace.
